Making a delicious rice dish as you may see served in restaurants is easy. With just a little effort, you can make a delicious dish of rice. Here is a guide to making a great rice dish at home.
Whenever you are preparing a rice dish, just remember this basic point: always boil rice in water it can absorb Here are steps to follow when making preparation.

Step 1
The first thing that you need to do is to wash the rice in cold water. Wash it several times until the water is clean and clear, draining it with a drainer, or using your hands if you do not have a drainer and making sure that you hold back the rice firmly with your hands to prevent it from falling off. To your cooking pot, add enough water and put it over the fire to boil. On the clean rice, add water that will cover the rice for about an hour.

Step 1
Wash the rice thoroughly in the cold water, rubbing it between your palms. Rinse several times pouring out the water. Repeat until you notice that the water has changed from white to clear. Thereafter, you can pour it into a drainer. If you do not have one, then you can just drain off the water by using your hands. For one cup of rice, add one and a half cups of water to your cooking pot. If you have to use a pan, then a non-sticky pan is ideal since you will only have to stir a little to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Add some water to the rice until it covers the rice

Step 3
Wait for some minutes and then add salt or lemon to taste. Lemon and salt are used to make your rice look whiter than it actually is. Stir at this point, to keep the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Leave the rice to cook.

Step 4
Once you notice large bubbles forming on your cooking pot, cover the pot with a lid, and allow it to cook for about 12 minutes, and then check if the rice is ready, by smashing a grain of rice on a plate. This will tell you if the rice is ready or if it needs further cooking. If the rice is ready, remove it from the fire and allow it to cool before serving it.
